The Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau and itās community partners are seeking photos that illustrate our communities STATEsville Of Mind. We are looking for the lifestyle, beauty and attractions of the Greater Statesville, North Carolina area.
Topics to consider are listed below, but creativity is encouraged!
Nature & the Outdoors: Scenic shots of the Greater Statesville area from any time of the year. Action shots of people of all ages hiking, biking, golfing, ziplining - maybe even from a hot air balloon!Ā
Attractions: Action shots of people enjoying our main attractions found on our website. Shopping: Local shops & boutiques, farmerās markets, etc.
Food & Drink: Shots of food at area restaurants, and of beer, wine, and more at our local breweries, winery or distillery.
Events: We want to see people having fun at our great events, such as Friday After 5 concerts, Full Bloom Film Festival, Pumpkin Festival, Balloon Festival, sporting events, and more!
Architecture and Streetscapes: Take a great shot of historic downtown? Highlight the beautiful buildings and parks? Yes, please!
Who May Enter?
The contest is open to any amateur or professional photographer over 18 years old. If under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must enter on your behalf.Ā
All photos must be taken in the Greater Statesville, North Carolina or at attractions in close proximity, such as Love Valley, Lake Norman State Park, Zootastic Park, DavestĆ© Vineyards, or Emerald Hollow Gem Mine. Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) employees, their Community Partners,Ā Board of Directors, their immediate family members, and people living in their households are ineligible.
How To Enter
Submit your entries publicly via social media! Simply post a photo on your Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter feed, and use the hashtag
#STATEsvilleOfMind. Thatās it! Once you use the hashtag #STATEsvilleOfMind, your photo is entered!Ā
For those who donāt have social media accounts or prefer not to enter that way, you can enter

Photos will be accepted from August 1, 2021 at 8 a.m. EST to November 12, 2021 at 5 p.m. EST.
By submitting a photo, you agree that your entry complies with the Official Rules. By submitting a photo, you agree that the photo can be shared and promoted across SCVB websites, social media accounts, and other advertising mediums.
Photos must be taken by the entrant and be the property of the entrant. Photos must comply with all applicable laws.
Photos that are obscene, defamatory, sexually explicit, or inappropriate will be disqualified at our discretion.
Photos must have been taken within one year of entry into this contest.
Photos may not have been published previously for monetary payment.
Only minor editing of a photo is acceptable. Extensively edited photos will be ineligible.
Prizes
1st Place: $500 Visa gift card, $300 in Downtown Dollars and their winning photo displayed on the Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau website (visitstatesville.com) and in the 2022 Visitors Guide.Ā
2nd Place: $350 Visa gift card, $150 in Downtown Dollars and the opportunity to have their winning photo displayed on the Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau website (visitstatesville.com) and in the 2022 Visitors Guide.
3rd Place: $150 Visa gift card, $75 in Downtown Dollars and the opportunity to have their winning photo displayed on the Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau website (visitstatesville.com) and in the 2022 Visitors Guide.
We will alert winners via their social media account (or by email for those who enter on the website) by November 30, 2021.
To receive prizes, winners must complete additional forms within 30 days. If winners donāt claim their prize or complete the required forms, we may select an alternate winner. Prizes may not be transferred.
Judging
Our judges, at their sole discretion, will make 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place selections based on the quality, composition, content, originality, creativity, and mass appeal. Decisions are final. Only winners will be notified of the outcome. Winning entries will be posted at www.visitstatesville.com by November 30, 2021
Other Very Important Information
All entrants grant to Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau and itās community partners the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to reproduce, distribute, display, modify, and create derivative works of any photo entered in the contest in any current or future media or on any merchandise without compensation or approval.Ā
By submitting a photograph to Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau you warrant that you are the owner of the image, that you alone own the copyright, and that you have obtained any necessary third-party releases.
If your photograph is selected as a winner of the contest, you may be asked to submit a personal release. For winning photos that contain an identifiable person(s), you must submit to us a release signed by the person(s) (or their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) ) that they have agreed to the use of their photo for SCVB purposes.Ā
We may terminate or modify any part of the contest at any time for any reason. We may disqualify anyone who violates these Official Rules. All entrants agree to release and hold harmless Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau and its agents from all claims related to the contest.
